For frequent fliers, a big perk of arriving at LAX is that you’ve just landed in America’s wellness mecca. Dehydrated skin, achey muscles, bloated stomachs, pained backs and jet lagged brains can all find their cures amongst the palm trees.

We’ve rounded up five stops to counteract the effects of life at 35,000 feet.

Remedy Place

Born from the vision of Dr. Jonathan Leary, Remedy Place is the world’s first social wellness club. A gathering place for those seeking balance, health and a respite from the stresses of city life, the club invites you to swap out cocktails for cold press juices and reset your wellness baseline. Dr. Leary and his team of holistic healthcare experts have created a menu of treatments based on their 7 Elements of Balance – Mind, Oxygen, Movement, Nutrients, Cold, Heat and Compression.

Their Post-LAX package is designed to rebalance your system after it endures the strains of travel with a combination of Hyperbaric Chamber Oxygen Therapy, Infrared Sauna and an Ice Bath with Breath Work.

Honey Hi

Located in Echo Park, Honey Hi is a dreamy little neighborhood spot that plays great music and serves up fresh and flavorful dishes featuring locally sourced organic vegetables and grass-fed meats. The menu is free of refined sugars, gluten, and food additives, and the results are as delicious as they are healthy.

Natural Pilates

Very little feels as good after a long flight as a good stretch. A class at Natural Pilates, our favorite studio in town, is a great low impact, full body workout that increases flexibility, improves posture and tones muscles while providing a deep stretch. It can also relieve back pain and general stiffness from too much time sitting in 5D.

Erewhon

It’s hard to discuss wellness in LA without mentioning Erewhon, the health food market that has achieved such a cult following in the city, you can buy a hoodie emblazoned with their orange logo. Pick up healthy snacks, have a tonic at the juice bar, or grab lunch from the best healthy hot food bar in the city.

FaceGym

FaceGym, the world’s first gym for your face, uses high energy kneading (hello, best face massage of your life!) and cutting edge technology to tighten and tone the 40 muscles in your face. The humidity in airplanes is less than 20%, causing skin to be dry and puffy upon landing from dehydration. To combat these effects, hit up FaceGym’s trainers for the Cryo Contour treatment, which combines their signature sculpt process with a high pressure shot of frozen CO2 for a powerful blast of oxygen, atomized active ingredients and hyaluronic acid to hydrate, plump and lock in moisture.
